The volcano is associated with the Eastern volcanic belt and is located about 13 km south of Kronotsky lake, in 200 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Form and structure | ||||||||||
The complex volcanic edifice consisting of two merged cones is in ancient caldera about 9 km in diameter. Northern cone has telescopic structure - in the center caldera about 2 km in diameter are located two cones enclosed each other. Height of least of them - 150 m, diameter of its crater - 60 m. |

Hazard synopsis |
Possible therminal eruptions and lateral on the volcanic slopes or at the southern part of caldera. Potential hazards are ash plumes, ash falls, pyroclastic and lava flows and lahars. |

Eruptions |
The last lava effusion took place 400-600 years ago. No historic eruption is known. In 1963 traces of fumarolic activity were registered in the crater of the middle Northern cone. |
